As pilots in South Florida, we are spoiled, great weather, great airports close enough for a fun breakfast or lunch flight, and easy access to the remote islands of the Bahamas for some island flying.
But every once in a while you really want to break out of the "lets do lunch" mode and really stretch our wings.
Well in May 2017 your invited to join the members of PBFC as they travel to Tahiti and really stretch those wings. Group space is blocked on the 10 Day "Sparking South Pacific Cruise" aboard the beautiful Oceania Sirena, sailing roundtrip from Papeete May 9-19, we disembark and will stay an additional 2 nights in Papeete and rent planes from a local flight school and fly around the Society Islands of French Polynesia.
This all started just as all dreams start, talking about it, and realizing "why not?" Jeff was looking for a destination that would allow him to snorkel every day of his 50th birthday vacation. It has to be someplace more than the Bahamas as we have been lucky enough to travel frequently to many of the islands of the Bahamas, it has to be some place bigger, grander, farther away. That is when we came up with Tahiti.
Tahiti and the surrounding Society Islands, famous for its overwater bungalows, lush rain forests, blue water and Polynesian culture really is the stuff that dreams are made of!
A few of us will be going in a few days before the cruise and heading over to Moorea to get over our jetlag in an overwater bungalow -- I know rough life, but someone has to do it, you can too!
